Who we are

We are a group of people in the non-profit organization the Canadian Club of Sweden. We primarily organize events connected to Canadian culture in Sweden. Our website address is: https://www.canclub.org. You can contact us via our Facebook page or by email: info@canclub.org or web@canclub.org.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Memberships

The Canadian Club of Sweden / Club Canadien de la Suède may collect the following personal information of its paying members: name, e-mail address, phone number, street address, names of family members/family status, membership status. This information is used to enable the club to provide members with perks in the form of discounts at events and at partner businesses, as well as to determine membership fees. Upon termination of membership, the club will keep this information for up to one year, after which it will be deleted from the club’s records. Members may contact the club at any time by e-mail (info@canclub.org) to change or delete this information. The club does not share this information with third parties.

Adhésions

Le Club Canadien de la Suède peut recueillir les renseignements personnels suivants de ses membres payants: nom, adresse de courriel, numéro de téléphone, adresse de rue, nom des membres de la famille / statut familial, statut de membre. Ces informations sont utilisées pour permettre au club d’offrir des avantages aux membres sous la forme de réductions lors d’événements et dans les entreprises partenaires, ainsi que pour déterminer les frais d’adhésion. Lors de la résiliation de l’adhésion, le club conservera ces informations pendant un an maximum, après quoi il sera supprimé des archives du club. E-mail List

The Canadian Club of Sweden / Club Canadien de la Suède maintains an e-mail list for paying and non-paying members to enable the dissemination of information about events and membership perks. For the purposes of the e-mail list we collect the following information: Name, e-mail address. People on the e-mail list may be removed at any time by contacting the club with a request to remove this information. A request for removal from the e-mail list will result in the relevant information being deleted immediately. The club does not share this information with third parties.

Le Club Canadien de la Suède maintient une liste de courriels pour les membres payants et non payants afin de permettre la diffusion d’information sur les événements et les avantages liés à l’adhésion. Pour les besoins de la liste de courrier électronique, nous collectons les informations suivantes: Nom, adresse e-mail. Les personnes figurant sur la liste d’adresses e-mail peuvent être retirées à tout moment en contactant le club en leur demandant de supprimer ces informations. Une demande de suppression de la liste de courrier électronique entraînera la suppression immédiate des informations pertinentes. Le Club ne partage pas ces informations avec des tiers.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Who we share your data with

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
